Stria vs EasyScope: paste, price, and bill
Stria vs EasyScope at a glance
Stria — Scope, sign-off and billing as one record — every client request judged against a locked baseline, and a tamper-evident approval you can export.
EasyScope — A scope tool with a standing free tier, an embeddable intake form on paid plans, and e-signature plus invoicing from its Solo Pro tier.
The short version
EasyScope is the closest single-purpose tool to Stria on shape — it also reaches into e-signature and invoicing — and it is cheaper, with a standing free tier. Two things to weigh: it charges a 0.5% fee on payments taken through its Connect integration (zero if you bring your own links), and its free and entry tiers meter detections. Stria is flat, takes no platform fee, and adds the locked baseline and the exportable sign-off certificate.
| Stria | EasyScope | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry price | $19/mo — you + 1 collaborator, unlimited clients | From $9/mo |
| Standing free tier | 3 clients, 6 deliverables a month, no card | 3 projects, 3 change orders, 5 AI detections |
| Seats at the entry price | You + 1 collaborator | Not stated by the vendor |
| Taken from money you collect | Nothing — you collect on your own Stripe | 0.5% EasyScope fee on Connect; BYO links 0% |
| Price checked | Published on our pricing page | 2026-09-01 |

Choose Stria if
You want a scope baseline you can point at in a dispute, an exportable certificate, and no fee on money you collect.
Choose EasyScope if
You want the lowest price for scope plus basic billing, and an embeddable intake form matters more to you than the proof layer.
EasyScope is the 2026 niche tool that most obviously overlaps the money half of Stria, not
just the detection half. We fetched the live page. Here is the useful version, including the
parts that favour them — and we are not going to pretend invoicing is something only we do.
The short answer
EasyScope is a paste-price-invoice loop. You set deliverables, budget and rate. You paste
a client message. It estimates hours, cost and deadline impact, drafts a diplomatic reply,
and turns the extra into a change order, quote or invoice the client approves through a
secure link with no account. Solo Pro adds signatures, Factur-X prep, and Stripe Connect
checkout when the client accepts.
Stria is a locked record that watches more than a paste box. Forwarded client mail and a
selected Slack channel are judged against a versioned scope. A signed change order supersedes
that version. Collection is on your own Stripe with no platform fee, and the ledger syncs to
Xero or QuickBooks Online.
If you bill in Europe and need line-level VAT on the same extra you just priced, EasyScope is
built for that. If the extra never made it into a paste box, keep reading.
| Stria | EasyScope | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry paid | $19/mo, 2 seats | $9/mo Starter |
| Mid | $39/mo, 5 seats | $19/mo Solo Pro |
| Five seats | $39/mo | $39/mo Studio, 5 seats |
| Standing free tier | Yes | Yes — 3 projects, 3 change orders/mo |
| Intake | Forward, Slack, paste | Paste a message; embeddable form |
| Invoicing | Yes | Yes |
| Platform fee on collection | None on your Stripe | 0.5% on Connect; 0% on BYO links |
Where EasyScope is the better choice
This list is longer than vanity would like.
- It is cheaper at the first paid rung. Starter is $9 a month for unlimited projects and
change orders. Stria opens at $19. Studio at $39 for five seats matches our Studio dollar
for dollar.
- Cost and timeline impact, shown to the client. Turning a vague extra into hours, cost
and a slipped date is their headline, and it is a genuinely different artefact from a
yes/no verdict. Stria prices against a rate card; it does not simulate deadline movement
as a first-class output.
- Tax-aware invoicing for Europe. Line-level VAT, Factur-X prep on Solo Pro, legal
mentions. We are not going to claim a European e-invoicing story we do not have.
- A standing free tier plus a 14-day trial of paid features. Three active projects, three
change orders a month, five AI detections. The trial is a sales term and is not the free
tier — both exist.
- Diplomatic drafts and retainer burn-down. Calm wording when you need budget, and a
monthly hour cap that auto-drafts a change request on overflow. Both are useful and both
are theirs.
- Pay-on-approval via Stripe Connect. When the client accepts, checkout can run in the
same motion. The honest cost of that convenience is a 0.5% EasyScope fee on Connect
charges. Your own Stripe, PayPal or Wise payment URL stays at 0% EasyScope from Starter
up.
Where Stria is the better choice
1. Intake that does not wait for a paste
EasyScope's own FAQ is precise: it detects likely out-of-scope work from the client's
message once you give it the message. The public "Paste a client message" control is the
product. An embeddable client form on Starter moves some of that onto the client. Neither
is watching a thread you did not file.
Stria detects an out-of-scope request inside forwarded client email, with no mailbox to
connect, and watches a selected Slack channel without workspace-wide message access. It
determines scope on every client comment, not only the ones you pasted. Forwarding is a
trade: you decide what it sees, so it cannot see what you forget. EasyScope has the same
hole, with a smaller default aperture.
2. The record is versioned, and revisions are refused
A large share of scope creep is the fourth round of an agreed deliverable. Stria counts
rounds against the number the fee covers and will refuse an over-budget revision round
unless you override it, with the override recorded as yours. EasyScope's public page does
not describe revision-round enforcement. Rows like that are marked not stated below because
their site does not describe it either way.
When a change order is signed, Stria supersedes the scope with a new version rather than
editing the old one.
3. Collection without a platform cut on your Stripe
EasyScope is honest about fees: BYO payment links take no EasyScope percentage; Connect
checkout on Solo Pro+ takes 0.5% plus Stripe's own processing. Stria collects on your own
Stripe with no platform fee on top of your processor, and invoices, payments and
reconciliation sync with either Xero or QuickBooks Online, one ledger at a time. If you
already love EasyScope's documents, this is duplication. If the books are the unfinished
half, it is the difference.
4. Price, stated fairly
Read from each vendor's own site on 1 September 2026:
| Stria | EasyScope | |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Yes | Yes — 3 projects, 3 COs, 5 AI detections |
| Entry paid | $19/mo, 2 seats | $9/mo Starter |
| Signatures / Connect | Included on paid | Solo Pro at $19/mo |
| Five seats | $39/mo | $39/mo Studio |
| Platform fee | None on your Stripe | 0.5% on Connect only |
Feature comparison
| Capability | Stria | EasyScope |
|---|---|---|
| Judge a pasted client message | Yes | Yes |
| Cost and timeline impact | Rate-card price | Hours, cost, deadline |
| Diplomatic reply draft | Wording provided | Yes |
| Quotes, invoices, change orders | Yes | Yes |
| Client approval link, no login | Yes | Yes |
| Tax-aware / Factur-X | Not in this shape | Yes — Solo Pro |
| Forwarded client mail | Yes | Not stated |
| Slack channel watching, scoped | Yes | Not stated |
| Verbatim citation from the scope | Yes | Not stated |
| Revision-round enforcement | Yes | Not stated |
| Accounting sync | Xero or QuickBooks Online | Not stated |
| Platform fee | None on your Stripe | 0.5% on Connect |
"Not stated" means their site does not describe it either way. We are not claiming an absence
we cannot check.
How to decide in ten minutes
- Do you need European line-level VAT on the extra you just priced? EasyScope. That
requirement is not a preference.
- Did last year's unpaid work ever get pasted into a tool? If no, a better paste box
will not catch it.
- Where does an approved change order go next? If the answer is already an invoicing
tool you like, take the cheaper specialised loop. If the answer is a spreadsheet, the
gap is between approval and cash.
Moving over
There is nothing to import from a scope tool, so this is the easy part — what you carry over is
your client book, not your scope history.
Import clients, projects and unpaid invoices from a CSV export — HoneyBook, Bonsai, Dubsado or a
spreadsheet. Columns are matched by name where we recognise them, split first and last name
columns are joined, and anything we cannot place is listed for you to point at a field before a
single row is written. The preview tells you how many clients are new and how much is already
past due.
Where to start
Stria is open. The free plan carries three clients and six deliverables a month and needs no card,
which is enough to put a real project through before deciding.
Start your 14-day trial, or try it with no account at all: the
free scope check needs no signup and
saves nothing. The live demo shows what the client sees.
